Synthase is a biotech start-up company, NZ-owned and based at the Ruakura Science Campus in Hamilton. The company was formed in 2015 using IP from the University of Arizona, specifically relating to plant enzymes that comprehensively repair damage caused by oxidation of lipids (more commonly referred to as fats) contained in the membrane of cells. It is very active in mammalian biology.
