One of the technologies that we are very interested in, the lab-on-a-chip (LOC) could significantly change the way that medical and chemical tests are run, introducing portability and reducing costs. Instead of having to go to a specialist medical center or maintaining an expensive testing laboratory, consumers might be able to buy a small test set that lets them run tests like fertility tests, blood tests, and other relatively routine tests from home.
