We approach fund management with an intergenerational view, building a community that delivers long-term benefits. We aim to make decisions that leave the world in a better place than before, achieving more than just financial gain.

Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates from entry-level up to three years experience within early-stage investment. If you have a commercial background in consulting, running a start-up, or investing (investment banking, private equity, or venture capital) that would be great, but it’s not necessary! A passion for science and technology is more important, and we encourage candidates with deep knowledge and/or an advanced degree in a relevant field even if you have no experience with investing or start-ups.
You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated desk research experience, critical thinking to ask the important questions, and good office computing abilities (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides). We are a remote-first organisation so you can work from anywhere in New Zealand, with occasional travel (COVID-permitting!). This means you need to be capable of working independently, as well as being a nice person who can collaborate with others as part of a wider virtual team.
Please send applications or questions to [email protected]. To apply, please send a CV and a short cover letter, with particular emphasis on why you are interested in a career as an investment professional with Matū. Please also declare any potential conflicts of interest. Applications close 3 March 2022.
Candidates for this position must have the legal right to work in New Zealand, and maintain an ability to travel. Direct inquiries only please – no agencies.
