Congratulations to Franck Natali and colleagues at Victoria University of Wellington who have been accepted into the inaugural Breakthrough Energy Fellow Program, based on their work on manufacturing ammonia at lower pressure and temperature conditions. This could have a significant impact on carbon emissions – some 500 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year could be reduced even with current production levels. Ammonia has a potential as a green fuel source as well, which could increase the demand in the coming years.
