University of Auckland doubles size of Inventors’ Fund to $40 million

Congratulations to our colleagues at UniServices, who operate the University of Auckland Inventors’ Fund, which has just been doubled to $40 million in capital. The UoA-IF model for supporting the commercialisation of research out of the University of Auckland has been a significant contributor to the increase in staff and student-led start-ups coming out of the university in recent years. We are privileged to be a trusted co-investor with UoA-IF, having supported the early rounds of CAS, PowerON, Alimetry, RosterLab, and Opo Bio! We are also strong supporters of the Return on Science and Momentum programmes operated by UniServices, which make recommendations about many start-up opportunities including those seeking funding from UoA-IF.

We are also excited to see the ongoing development of UniServices’ work programme on engaging with Te Ao Māori, both through funding and through support for policy work. Read more here: https://www.uniservices.co.nz/university-of-auckland-inventors-fund-doubles-to-40m
